10 Things you will totally need when you go camping

The weather calls for a camping trip!

If you are heading to the mighty WADI RUM or picking the north for a night in nature you will wonder what are the things you need to pack for your 2 days camping trip?

Do you end up forgetting that one thing your mind convinced you that you cannot survive without?

Of course we all know that certain clothes should be packed, each person know his need but I always say the lighter the better because you will end up not needing half of the items you have carried!

Fleece, polyester & Microfiber are your best textures to have on you, Fleece will keep you warm, and Polyester/Microfiber items are light and dries in no time!

Here are few things you MUST have with you!

  1. Sleeping Necessities:
  • Your tent,
  • Your sleeping bag,
  • Your comfy travel pillow
  • Your mattress

2. Camp flip-flops: You don’t want to spend your day and night wearing the same shoes, your tiny toes need some rest too!

  1. Headlight: You will thank yourself when you want to go to the toilet in the middle of the nights and all you can see is darkness!
  1. Personal Items:
  • Wet wipes
  • Tissues
  • Hands Sanitizer
  • Trash bags
  • Travelling tooth brush & tooth paste
  • Sunscreen
  • First aid kit
  1. FOOD, here are some tips about that:
  • Make sure that you take easily cooked items such as tomatoes, chicken & Vegetables because you will only have the camp fire to use (Sajyeh is your bestfriend)
  • You will appreciate canned food such as tuna & corn
  • Energy bars: They will keep you full for a while and give you the energy to go through the day
  1. It’s ok to take your luxuries items with you, I never camp without these items in my backpack
  • Coffee maker (French press is very handy)
  • Speakers because music is life
  • Soft blanket because it feels awesome around the bonfire
  1. A Hammock! They say you can’t buy happiness but you can buy a hammock and it’s pretty much the same!
  2. Kitchenaries: I know that this is not even a word but you will thank me later, some people focus on the bigger items, but I reality those small items you forget all about are the deal breakers
  • Stove in case you couldn’t find wood for your fire (Better safe than sorry)
  • Cutleries, Cups, Can opener & Food containers for left overs
  1. Maps, Maps & Maps: Even if you have been to the same area 100 times before make sure you have an offline map with, a GPS or Satellite phone, for me I always use my Suunto watch
  1. Camera: You will regret not getting that perfect shot of your friend’s head dangling outside his tent at night so make sure you have your camera on you!

Last but not least, it’s always about the company not the destination so make sure you enjoy your time with those who are as adventurous as you are and bear in mind that camping is not a dangerous activity but a certain amount of caution should be taken.
